Dates have once again been set for the block party that makes Thursdays evenings in summer feel more like Friday on Main Street in Riverhead. Alive on 25 is returning this summer, featuring live music, food and vendors.
This year, Alive on 25 will be on four Thursdays in July and August: July 3, July 18, Aug. 1, and Aug. 15 with a rain date of Aug. 22 should any of the events be washed out.
This schedule merges two of Riverhead’s most popular summer events into one. Since Fourth of July is a Friday, the Riverhead Business Improvement District Management Association and the Town of Riverhead are combining the annual Fourth of July fireworks show with the first Alive on 25 on July 3. The show takes place at 9 p.m. in Grangebel Park.
Each of the events will feature plenty to eat, drink and experience on Main Street. There are more than 12 food trucks lined up, serving everything from seafood to gyros to gourmet burgers. There will also be a classic car show on the waterfront, eight stages with live music and free kids activities like rock wall climbing.
Alive on 25, which has drawn thousands each year since it was launched in 2016, was modeled after Patchogue’s Alive after Five series. Like last year, Riverhead’s events will take place on opposite Thursdays. Patchogue’s dates are June 27, July 11, July 25 and Aug. 8.
