Antique & Artisan Fair

Old Town Arts and Crafts Guild will hold an antiques, arts & crafts fair Saturday, May 21, at Mattituck-Laurel Historical Society from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Shop for antiques, handmade crafts, pottery, photography, fine art and vintage items while enjoying live music and baked goods. Admission, $2, includes a raffle ticket for a piece of local art.

Keeping Backyard Chickens

Learn how to raise chickens Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Southold Agricultural Center.

Nicole and Jared Jeanotte from Scratch Farm will share their knowledge of raising chickens for meat and eggs. They’ll discuss how to build a coop and what kind of chickens to buy, along with health issues and remedies.

Open House at Sang Lee Farms

Enjoy the farm all day long with free tastings and tours Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Life Jacket World Record Day

Learn about boating safety and try to set a world record on Saturday, May 21, at Strong’s Marine from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Mattituck.

Strong’s Marine will kick off National Safe Boating Week with an attempt to to break a world record for the most life jackets worn at one time. There will also be complimentary vessel safety inspections and a flare demonstration.

The event is free and photographs will be taken for world record documentation. For more information, visit or

Grateful Dead Fest

Enjoy a full day of live Grateful Dead tunes Sunday, May 22, at Calverton Links from noon to 8 p.m.

Come listen to bands like Half Step, The Electrix, Reckoning, Deadgrass, and After Dark. There will also be live painting by artists, food for purchase, and family-friendly and kids’ activities.
