Looking for a little wine education, but don’t want to spend the time and money needed to become a sommelier?
Join Wine and Spirit Education Trust certified sommelier Julia King at Lieb Cellars’ Bridge Lane tasting room in Mattituck this weekend for a hands-on class exploring wine, wine tasting and wine pairing.
The class will take place on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Topics include the following: The components of wine (acid, sugar, tannin and alcohol) and how they factor into a wine’s quality; wine tasting and evaluation including the visual appearance, aromas, taste and quality of a wine; and the basics of wine and food pairing.
Eight wines will be served during the class as will cheese.
Tickets are $30 (or $25 for wine club and industry members).
