Attention all Shark Week lovers.
The Discovery channel and Optimum will promote the popular week-long series dedicated to the underwater predator with a day-long celebration at The Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center in downtown Riverhead.
Shark Week personality and shark expert Andy Casagrande will be there signing autographs and talking about, what else, sharks. The event will run Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature a Q & A and autograph session with Casagrande, face painting, a scavenger hunt and other kid-friendly activities.
To celebrate Shark Week’s 27th year, the first 27 Optimum Rewards members to come to the aquarium that day will receive a free admission for five people or less. All other Optimum Rewards members will receive 30 percent off admission. Just remember to bring your Optimum Rewards card.
Shark Week premieres Sunday,Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. on Discovery.
