After unexpectedly shuttering The Square in Greenport last winter, Keith Luce seems to have found a new home: Calgary.

Calgary Herald article notes that the Riverhead native, James Beard Award-winner, and former head chef at Jedediah Hawkins Inn went north of the border to start up Corbeaux Bakehouse, a “community bakehouse” slated to open in the fall which will transition into a café, sandwich shop and dessert shop come afternoon and evening.

Luce launched the ambitious project dubbed ‘The Square’ in Greenport’s Stirling Square about a year ago, which consisted of four separate businesses: Nosh, Main, Prep and Meet. One offered wine and beer tastings; one served as a full service restaurant; one offered baked goods, cured meats and flatbread pizzas; and one was a café.

By last December, employees had been told that Mr. Luce was away on business, and the shops were closed indefinitely. The Square’s website has since expired.
