The ladies of the hit HBO series “Girls” are coming to the North Fork in 30 days.
The episode “Beach House,” which was shot in East Marion and Greenport last June, will be aired at 10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, northforker.com has learned.
Directed by the North Fork’s own Jesse Peretz (“Our Idiot Brother”) — and written by Judd Apatow (“Knocked Up,” “40-Year-Old Virgin”), and showrunners Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner — it’s the seventh episode of the third season of the series, which returned with two episodes last Sunday.
Last year’s Golden Globe winner for Best Comedy Series, “Girls” has been critically acclaimed since its debut in April 2012.
While much of the plot of “Beach House” was kept under wraps during filming last summer, the crew did allow media access to a pair of scenes filmed outside Claudio’s on Main Street in Greenport.
One scene showed the characters getting off the fictional “Big Long Islander” bus as they arrived in Greenport.
As they step off the bus, the character Shoshanna, played by actress Zosia Mamet, gets off a bus, steps out near Claudio’s and says to her friends, “Wow, I can’t believe we’re here in the Hamptons.”
Marnie, played by Allison Williams, quickly corrects her.
“No, this is the North Fork,” she says. “It’s actually very different.”
Other scenes were filmed at a beachfront home in East Marion, hence the title, and The Market on Front Street in Greenport.
