If you’ve experienced live music at a winery, it was probably jazz, blues or relaxing acoustic guitar. But on Aug.19, All for the East End changed all that with its first-ever charity concert.
The show, featuring headliners Nile Rodgers and his band Chic along with “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert and Swedish DJ sensation Avicii, one of the biggest names in music today, turned Martha Clara Vineyard in Riverhead into a outdoor dance party that drew a crowd of more than 3,000.
The event raised $70,000 to benefit All For The East End, which aims to raise funds to support the more than 1,000 not-for-profits on Long Island’s East End with grants.
The concert was such a success, organizers already have their sights set on the next one. A portion of the funds will be used to ensure the benefit concert happens again in 2014.
