Saying so long to summer, Harbes Family Farms is hosting its Fall Harvest Festival this weekend Sept. 7-8.

The event is a celebration of all things autumn featuring scarecrow relay races, pumpkin bowling, corn cannons and even a pumpkin piñata.

Additionally Harbes will have all its usual attractions such as the Barnyard Adventure, singing hayrides, wine tastings and music.

“The Fall represents a time of joy and harvest for farmers,” Ed Harbes, general manager at Harbes Family Farms, said in a statement. “Our festival to celebrate the harvest is the perfect way for the community to join together with us and share in the experience.”

Also scheduled for the festival is the introduction of Greenport Harbor Brewing Company’s Leaf Pile Ale. The autumn ale with made with fresh whole ginger, cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg and a trace of real pumpkin earning it the reputation “pumpkin pie in a glass.”

The festival is 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 7 and Sunday Sept. 8 at Harbes Family Farms, 715 Sound Avenue in Mattituck.
