The Jim Lull Memorial Summer Concert Series concluded Friday evening with a performance at Grangebel Park from rock and roll band Exit 47.

As the sun set over the park, the band entertained the audience with a wide selection of songs from their extensive play list. The concert was presented by Riverhead Townscape.

The concert series was named this year in honor of Mr. Lull, who was instrumental in Townscape’s Friday night summer concert series for many years. A former Riverhead councilman, Mr. Lull also coordinated the Riverhead Country Fair in downtown Riverhead from 1983 to 2010 with the assistance of his wife, Connie.

Mr. Lull died last December at the age of 72.

The scheduled lineup for the concert series, which ran through the months of July and August, also included scheduled performances from Sound Symphony, Who Are Those Guys, Buddy Merriam and Backroads, Long Island Sound Chorus, and the Gilleece Twins and Chris Benedict.

The downtown series was sponsored by John Wesley Village and performances were held at either Grangebel Park or the green at East End Arts.
