The unofficial holiday, which comes annually on July 30, observes the rich and delicious history of the cheesecake.
The treat dates back to 770 BC, when the dessert was served to Olympic athletes.
Today, there are European, Latin American, Asian and, of course, American variations on how the dessert is baked and served.
