Calynne Daley, baker and creator of Cakes by Calynne, has introduced a new way to enjoy a popular summer beverage.

Her rosé cupcakes have been a big hit at Osprey’s Dominion in Peconic, where she sells around 400 each weekend.

The North Fork will be on full display from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today, Sept. 9, as “New York Farm Day” is observed in Washington, D.C. The event showcases a variety of farm products from all over the state to Washington’s biggest powerbrokers.

“New York Farm Day” has become one of the most popular annual events on Capitol Hill since its inception in 2002, when it was hosted by then-Sen. Hillary Clinton. The day is meant to remind Congress, the administration and other Washington legislators how important agriculture is to New York State.

Hosted by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in the Senator Kennedy Caucus Room, as many as 500 people have attended in the past. Tonight’s attendees will include other senators, the New York Congressional delegation from the House of Representatives, legislative chiefs of staff and members of the Washington media. (more…)
