From Bay Shore to Montauk, these five eateries prove the North Fork isn’t the only place to dine for those looking to pair great food with great views.

Duryea’s Lobster Deck & Seafood Market
As one of Montauk’s most beloved destinations for spectacular water views and outdoor dining, Duryea’s Lobster Deck & Seafood Market is tops for sunsets and seafood. Favorite dishes include New England clam chowder, lobster rolls and steamers, but there are plenty of non-seafood choices, too. Many dishes are served family-style so order right and you’ll get to sample it all. New this season is a Marie Eiffel Fashion pop-up in their farmers market, adjacent to the restaurant.

Harbor Bistro
Tucked away from busy Main Street, Harbor Bistro in East Hampton is a summer-only waterfront restaurant with unforgettable sunset views over The Maidstone Harbor Marina. Its menu focuses on eclectic American and seafood fare with Asian, South American and Mediterranean influences. Top choices include their tuna tostada, calamari, duck confit nachos and vegan pad Thai ramen. Look out for the Sunset Happy Hour special and $10 Share Bites all night, every night at the bar. Share Bites include half-shell clams, truffle parmesan fries and goat cheese croquettes.

The Snapper Inn
Impressive views of the Connetquot River serve as the backdrop to a meal at The Snapper Inn in Oakdale. The waterfront restaurant has plenty of seafood options, including lobster rolls, soft shell crabs and the fresh catch of the day caught by owner George Remmer. Grab a seat at the outside Gazebo Bar or a table on the expansive lawn, either way the view is great. And, in honor of its 90th anniversary, Snapper Inn is serving up 90-cent oysters at the bar Wednesday through Friday.

LakeHouse
Situated on the Great South Bay, LakeHouse is a great dock and dine option in Bay Shore. But you don’t have to have a boat to make the most of the scenery. The Deck at Lakehouse boasts lounge-style seating and a fire pit overlooking the water. The restaurant is also heavily involved with a local CSA, and many of their dishes are made with local ingredients, including their memorable peach butter cake made with North Fork peaches. The oyster farm they source from is located just a half mile away, too. Dishes to note include halibut, scallops and Berkshire pork.

Cowfish
Stare out onto the Shinnecock Bay from the comfort of Cowfish’s outdoor couches and Adirondack chairs for one of the most stunning views in Hampton Bays. Happy hour is from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in the upstairs lounge and outdoor bar areas, and includes half-off select appetizers and drinks, such as the must-try rum punch. Cowfish isn’t just about looking at the water; it is also about getting out on the water via the restaurant’s private boat. Its famous RumBarge, which ferries guests back and forth to sister restaurant RUMBA, is back up and running on weekends and full-time beginning the third week of June.
