Wine Spectator is encouraging readers to enjoy a meal while getting away from it all this summer at The Red Maple at the Chequit Inn on Shelter Island and Wölffer Kitchen in Sag Harbor. Both restaurants are featured in the Travel section of the magazine’s June 2016 issue.
In a story on page 23, Samantha Falewée says The Red Maple, which opened inside the Chequit last year, is “hitting its stride.” This summer, she said, guests can expect fare like Montauk fluke cooked with white wine.
“On the porch, guests can dine under the restaurant’s namesake 50-year-old maple tree,” Falewée continues. “The renovated lobby offers breakfast that changes daily, then converts to a guests-only wine bar in the afternoon.”
