Community Supported Agriculture programs are an excellent way to ensure you’re getting the freshest provisions around while sustaining local famers. North Fork farms are gearing up for the start of their spring and summer CSAs, which typically run through the fall and are stocked with the ripest, just-picked fruits and vegetables the season has to offer.

It’s February, which means we are at the point in the year where we’re furthest away from the taste of juicy, ripe heirloom tomatoes and fresh-off-the-grill corn.

But now is the perfect time to support the farmers who bring us our delicious produce as they prepare for the 2017 growing season.  (more…)

The ground will soon freeze over and we can expect the white stuff to make its first substantial appearance in the coming weeks, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still get organic, fresh and locally grown produce.

While many farm stands shut down around the end of November, several North Fork organic farms offer winter community supported agriculture programs with items like fresh veggies, free-range eggs and cheese. (more…)
