About
We will engage in an outdoor field study at Wildwood Lake where we will teach you how to take a scientific water sample in the field and test the sample to determine levels of cyanobacteria, nitrate, phosphate, pH, dissolved oxygen, and temperature of the water. We will also examine samples from the floor bed of the water bodies to see if we can identify macroinvertebrates and then learn about what those organisms can indicate about the health of the ecosystem. We will learn about the precious nature of our limited fresh water supply here on earth and engage in a conversation about local ecosystems.
