About

For more than 60 years, The Harbormen Chorus shares their energy and enthusiasm through creative 4-part Barbershop-style a Capella harmonies. This style evolved in the 1800s and evolved all the way to contemporarypop, including tunes from Vaudeville, Doo-Wop, Motown, and Disney film eras and performers like The Beach Boys, Beatles, Elvis, Neil Diamond, and more. The Harbormen are guaranteed to bring smiles, memories, laughs and sing-a-long fun for our Library audience.

Their wide and varied venues include local fairs, Long Island Ducks, the annual Port Jefferson Dickens’ Festival, public libraries, independent and assisted living centers, the State Veterans Home, old-time baseball games, and holiday season ceremonies and gatherings. The Harbormen perform in quartets or as a full chorus of 25 voices under the leadership of
professional Director Carl Ferrara.

With a mission to promote this element and joy of music history, The Chorus is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit organization. Our local community services include the Good Shepherd Hospice at St. Charles Hospital and the Michael Murphy Run for Veterans, and many memorial
services.
