Established in 1927, Custer Institute, located on Main Bayview Road in Southold, is Long Island’s oldest public observatory and is open to the public every Saturday evening from 7 p.m. until midnight. Enjoy a tour of the facilities and view the winter night sky through the institute’s telescopes.
