Remembering 9/11: Responder Stories Onscreen and In-Person” is a two hour public program designed to deepen community understanding of the experiences, sacrifices, and ongoing legacy of the 9/11 responders. Through curated video vignettes from the Stony Brook World Trade Center Oral History Project: “Remembering 9/11,” and a live Q&A with at Long Island responder, attendees will gain firsthand insight into the courage, camaraderie, and resilience that defined the response to the September 11, 2001, attacks.
Program Objectives
- Share authentic first person accounts from 9/11 responders
- Highlight themes of duty, patriotism, courage, community, and resilience
- Preserve and elevate the voices of disaster workers and volunteers
- Foster meaningful dialogue between responders and the public
- Increase awareness of the mission and services of the WTC Health Program
