About

Comic Books tell stories based on a concept called sequential visual storytelling or SVS. In this workshop, students will explore how to use SVS to tell an interesting story about the environment. Some of the concepts they will learn about include establishing shots, how panels work, what to include and what to leave out, when and how to use words, sound words, using camera angles and location, and tricks for leading the reader’s eye through the story in the correct sequence. Students will choose their own comic book style of art, and if they don’t know what style they like, I will give them some resources for trying various styles so they can figure what works best with their artistic strengths.
