The Mattituck-Laurel Civic Association is sponsoring a 5K Run/Walk in honor of Bill Lynch, Jr., who passed away in 2013, leaving behind a legacy of scholarship and athleticism in the Mattituck High School with strong ties to the Unity Baptist Church both leading to his commitment as an adult to community service in civil rights activism and in political engagement.
Proceeds from the run will go to a scholarship in Mr. Lynch’s name to be awarded to a Mattituck High School student at the end of the school year. There will be t-shirts, awards, raffle prizes and refreshments for participants.
