Peconic Landing invites the community to a special six-part screening series of The American Revolution, a documentary by acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns, presented in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. Spanning May 15 through June 19, this powerful series traces the full arc of the nation’s founding, beginning with the growing unrest between Britain and the American colonies, continuing through the outbreak of war and the Declaration of Independence, and following the Continental Army through its early struggles, strategic turning points, and eventual path to victory. Along the way, the film explores how the Revolutionary War evolved into a global conflict and concludes by reflecting on the enduring ideals and legacy born from the fight for independence. Through rich storytelling, historical detail, and compelling personal perspectives, this six-part series offers a profound and immersive look at the events that shaped the United States.

  • May 15 – Episode 1: In Order to Be Free (May 1754 – May 1775) 
  • May 22 – Episode 2: An Asylum for Mankind (May 1775 – July 1776)
  • May 29 – Episode 3: The Times That Try Men’s Souls (July 1776 – January 1777)
  • June 5 – Episode 4: Conquer by a Drawn Game (January 1777 – February 1778)
  • June 12 – Episode 5: The Soul of All America (December 1777 – May 1780)
  • June 19 – Episode 6: The Most Sacred Thing (May 1780 – Onward)

Free and open to the public. Registration strongly encouraged to secure seating. Each episode runs two hours.
