About
Riverhead, New York, June 19, 2026– The Butterfly Effect Project (BEP) is excited to announce our
second annual Juneteenth: A Celebration of Community event. The FREE event will feature 32 local
vendors, organizations, and businesses offering an array of delicious foods, cool products, amazing
entertainment and performances, and superior services all AT NO CHARGE to attendees.
Community members of all ages are invited and encouraged to attend with family and friends!
BEP intends to honor the origins of Juneteenth or Freedom Day by remembering, rejoicing, feasting,
supporting and sharing with one another— just as our ancestors did after the Civil War. Through
fellowship and generosity— gathering together, volunteering our time and talents, and celebrating our
unique gifts — we will build community. We will honor the history of when all enslaved African
Americans were freed while we look to a brighter, more equitable future for each and every one of us.
On Juneteenth, we commemorate how far we have come, and in community we find the joy and
strength necessary to continue the struggle for justice and freedom for all. Feel free to reach out to
BEP with questions by emailing [email protected] or calling BEP’s Office at 631-591-0759.
