The Jamesport Meeting House presents Holiday Songs Around
the World: A Global Music Celebration performed by East End Jazz on Saturday,
December 6 at 7:30 p.m. Under the direction of Iris Ornig, the talented
musicians of East End Jazz will embark on a musical journey through the diverse
holiday and winter traditions from around the globe, all infused with the
dynamic spirit of jazz for which East End Jazz is known. The
program will transport you with a selection of holiday songs that highlight the
cultural richness of different countries, from the classic and familiar,
such as “Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht” (Silent Night) — to lesser-known gems
from Sweden, Lebanon, China, Israel and Japan. Tickets are $20. Advance
