STARRY NIGHT VS. THE UNIVERSE
OBJECTIVE: To gain knowledge of both our artist and our science concept. Utilizing different art mediums the student will create a project that integrates the style or subject of the artist’s work and the knowledge of the science topic.
ARTIST: Vincent VanGogh
We will explore how he became the artist that he was, how he developed his style, and his contribution to the art world.
SCIENCE CONCEPTS:
Introduction to the Universe: The science of Astronomy
discovering details about celestial objects & space.
STEAM PROJECT:
Utilizing your knowledge of the elements of the universe, create your own universe in the style of Van Gogh.
Supplies – black construction paper, chalk pastels and white paint. Dip pastels in white paint and draw your universe. Remember to fill the entire sheet, the universe is infinite.
