About
If you enjoy the taste of fresh, locally caught shellfish, there’s a story behind their arrival to your dinner plate. Starting with the effects of climate change, to the impact of algal blooms on our local bays and wetlands, our local shellfish farmers have adjusted in recent years to ensure you can enjoy your favorite oysters and clams. Join the Peconic Land Trust for a conversation featuring three individuals in the industry, Ben Gonzalez of Southold Bay Oysters, Paul McCormick of Great Gun Oyster Farm, and Steve Tettelbach, Shellfish Ecologist with Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Marine Science Division. This free Zoom program will be moderated by journalist Charity Robey. For more information and to register, visit www.Peconiclandtrust.org.
