Jamesport Meeting
House will host a performance by the exceptional Accord Treble
Choir on Saturday, June 28 at 7 p.m., to be followed by a meet-the-artists
reception. Accord is an all-women a cappella ensemble whose music spans a wide
variety of styles, eras and cultures. Accord will perform a program of works
composed exclusively by women entitled “Mother Earth,” which honors humans’
connection to the earth and the myriad identities and experiences that fall
under the umbrella of “woman.” The music to be performed will include the
eco-cantata “Urgent Earth” by NYC composer Stefania de Kenessey and pieces by
Zanaida Robles, Libby Larsen, Chen Yi, Sarah Kirkland Snider, Katerina Gimon,
Eva Ugalde, Joan Szymko, and more.
