The cost is $15 per student per week 50% off for members.
Join us each week for a new engineering challenge. Students will learn about the engineering design process and apply it to their own projects. We will discuss the field of engineering our project falls into each week and tackle a new building project together. Students will bring their creative and critical thinking skills together brainstorm, prototype, and test their creations. Subjects will include geodesic domes, catapults, bridges, Rube Goldberg machines, vehicles, and more. Once the students have built and tested their designs we will then spend time reviewing the student’s designs and revamping to improve designs. Each week we will post the list of needed materials for the upcoming build. We will suggest household items and offer potential alternatives so the students can get creative.

STEAM is a weekly in person workshop that is a collaboration between EEA and the LI Science Center in Riverhead. Our curriculum will be a one hour program based on a famous artwork, for example, Van Gogh’s Stary Night, where we will discuss the painting, and the students will get a brief art history lesson on the artist. Then we will connect the art work with a science topic, for example the Universe. We will close the class with a combined art and science project which will relate to both the artists style and connect to the science topic. It will be one hour of jam packed fun and a little education. All materials are included in the price. This will go for 15 sessions and we will promote a new topic each week. Both EEA and LISC members are eligible for member pricing.
Cost: member – $280 (15 sessions); non-member – $343.75 (15 sessions)
If there is still room, we will offer single class enrollments the week of each class – per class for members $20.00; per class for non-members $25.00.
