Help save sea turtles by participating in the 19th annual Run for the Ridley 5K in Riverhead on Saturday, October 22.
You can become a sponsor or a runner to help the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation prepare for the upcoming cooler months when sea turtles can become paralyzed by frigid sea water, a process also called cold stunned.
The 18th annual Sound to Bay 10K kicks off in Jamesport at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28.
The event consists of two races: a 10K that travels from the Long Island Sound to Peconic Bay and a 5K that extends from Peconic Bay Boulevard to South Jamesport Beach. The race is sponsored by the Jamesport Fire Department. (more…)
The fourth annual Paddle Battle Long Island was held on Peconic River in Riverhead Saturday.
Over 200 kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards raced at amateur, competitive and elite levels.
The event, which is hosted by the East End Tourism Alliance, raises money for the United Way of Long Island VetsBuild program to benefit veterans and military families.
