Greenport Village might just cover one square mile of land, but there you will find many, many options for good eats.
Newsday food critics Peter M. Gianotti, Erica Marcus and Joan Reminick narrowed down their 18 favorites eateries in the Greenport zip code in an article posted on the paper’s website on Monday.
“On LI’s North Fork, Greenport is a great destination for the adorable small towns you pass along the drive there and the great restaurants awaiting once you arrive,” states the intro to the list. “It’s a town filled with options for every meal.”
Unsurprisingly the list includes the village’s upscale favorites like Noah’s and The Frisky Oyster, as well as some more casual newcomers like 1943 Pizza Bar and Lucharito’s.
Staples like Scrimshaw and Claudio’s also made the cut as well as fried chicken favorite Salamander’s on Front.
The newest eatery to make the list is Basso Cichetti E Specialita which opened earlier this month.
