Watch as the vines at Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack are lit up with 15,000 LED lights for the awe-inspiring “Festival of Lights” display and holiday cocktail party on Dec. 6.
The festivities will include a wreath auction (featuring wreaths designed by local celebrities and artists), passed hors d’oevres, Wölffer wine, mulled wine, hard cider and, of course, the lighting of the vines. There will also be live jazz music and Wölffer winemaker Roman Roth occasionally joins the band for a number.
Santa (Wölffer staffer Patrick Sullivan dressed as the Big Man) will arrive in a red Corvette for the event.
The lighting of the vines started in 2009, though this is the second year Wölffer has hosted a festive fundraiser and cocktail party around the event.
Proceeds of the wreath auction benefit Fighting Chance, which offers free counseling to those suffering from cancer across the East End.
“It’s a really beautiful heart-warming event,” said Wölffer marketing manager Donnell Brown. “Roman sits on the [Fighting Chance] board so it’s a cause near and dear to his heart.”
Tickets are $75 for guests 13 and up and $35 for those under 12. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 6.
Wölffer Estate Vineyard is located at 139 Sagg Road in Sagaponack.
