Since its 2023 opening, Hotel Moraine (62005 County Road, Greenport, 631-477-1776) has proved to be a serene scene with panoramic windows, an outdoor pool and a grassy area overlooking the Long Island Sound.
This summer, the hotel is debuting a new gathering space called Sunset Landing, created to give purpose to the semi-private outdoor lounge area utilized by hotel guests, just a few steps down from the hotel’s lawn.
“It’s available for guests to grab a cocktail and enjoy the sunset,” says Rachel Cronemeyer Flatley, general manager at Hotel Moraine. “Or you can rent it out for a private event. We envisioned a really amazing intimate dinner down here of 20 to 25 people that feels private and away from the rest of the hotel.”
In the past, the hotel had been using their cottage as an event space. That area, full of a rotating list of local artists’ work also held about 20 to 25 people and has served as a space for corporate functions, rehearsal dinners and as a bridal party suite for pre-wedding prep.
While they’ll still utilize the cottage, Sunset Landing really reinforces Hotel Moraine’s tagline “where the land meets the sea.”
On June 10, the hotel invited a few guests to Sunset Landing where they showed off the gorgeous setting, decked out by two of their preferred vendors — Lauren Lombardi, who provided seasonal bites, and Franceska Earl of Festoen, who showcased her design and florals.
Anyone booking the space is required to utilize a planner, and the hotel has a preferred vendor list that they provide.
