Elyse Merrifield opened the shop’s doors nearly six years ago, initially as co-founder of Popsicle & Finn. In 2023, the store rebranded as Salt + Sea, with Merrifield solely at the helm. Intent on supplying casual yet elevated attire, Salt + Sea sells some of Merrifield’s favorite brands like Paige, Saint James, MC2 Saint Barth, Rails, and Faherty.
A former longtime weekender on the North Fork and year-round resident for almost a decade, Merrifield is fully aligned with the coastal vibe that permeates her Front Street store. And her 35-year career in fashion and retail working for brands like Liz Claiborne, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger and Sephora, gave her an industry insider’s understanding of quality clothing that’s stylish yet trend-defying.
