The indoor Riverhead Farmers Market is gearing up for fall and winter shopping with opening day on Saturday, November 1 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Twin Fork Beer Co. in Riverhead.
“It’s going to be a really great season,” says vendor and volunteer organizer Nicole Petti. About 40 small businesses will be selling their wares at the market this year, with many favorites returning, like Mattituck Mushrooms, Milla’s Puffs, Montauk Smoked Fish, Horman’s Best Pickles and Sweet Woodland Farm. Petti reports that there will be new vendors this year as well.
“We have a new coffee and tea person, Rachel Latter, who is going to be doing homemade chai syrups and all sorts of tea drinks,” says Petti (Latter’s business is called Hug in a Mug). “We’re starting off with Consider Bardwell for cheese, and later in the season The Big Cheese will be joining us — he does an assortment of cheeses from New York State.” Turturici & Sons will be selling olive oil on select dates; Afro Gato Coffee will have cold brew and hot cider; Bramble Bee Apiary is a new honey vendor and Sand and Soil is a certified organic farm from the South Fork that will be at the market until Thanksgiving.
This season is the third at the Twin Fork Beer Co. space, a roomy indoor brewery and tasting room with plenty of parking tucked away on a side street in Riverhead. When East End Food, the Riverhead-based nonprofit food hub, temporarily suspended their farmers market as they dealt with various funding and leasing issues, some of the market vendors, including Petti of Urban Coyote Farm and Rachel Stevens of Sweet Woodland Farm, stepped in to keep things running.
“This is our second year running independently as a vendor-run market,” says Petti. “[East End Food] has been on hiatus with the market while they’re getting their plans in order … they’re happy to support us having the market, and they’ll be doing some promotion for us this year.”

But there’s lots more than just doing your weekly shopping for fish, eggs, bread, cheese and prepared foods at the market. Live music is booked for most weekends, and you can grab a coffee or enjoy a locally made glass of beer or wine as well as order food at the bar. And this year, Twin Fork will be offering cocktails like Moscow mules or old fashioneds, which you can sip in front of their cozy fireplace.
“The brewery is amazing,” says Petti. “They’ve been really phenomenal to work with and very flexible. I think it’s an affordable market for the vendors, which is important. We’re happy to call it home.”
The market will run on Saturdays at Twin Fork Brewing Co. from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. until the end of April 2026. For further information, follow their Instagram account here.
