Norine Pennacchia is bringing a touch of her style to Jamesport this spring.
The founder of TouchGoods (53740 Main Road, 631-765-8455) in Southold, is expanding offerings in her new shop, The Outpost by TouchGoods (1560 Main Road) in Jamesport.
Set to soft open May 17, the smaller curated space, where Chef Fran’s Kitchenware served as Jamesport’s specialty home goods store since 2017, will bring a western spin to new and familiar stock from Pennacchia’s Southold store.
“We’ll focus on just the basic kitchen needs, goods, gifts, home essentials,” says Pennacchia, “but it’s meant to be more playful, less serious than Southold — a bit cheeky in some ways.”
The Riverhead resident opened her first location in 2016, selling furniture, gifts, home décor, kitchenware and lighting. She was looking to bring her creative expertise to the North Fork. In 2022, she expanded into next door’s Complement the Chef and keeping that shop’s kitchen and dining ware theme.
“I had been working in the industry for many, many years,” says Pennacchia. “I started out working in the Hamptons in home décor and interior design. That’s where I sort of learned everything. I wanted to be closer to home, there was an opening in Southold, I took it.”
What was once a quiet spot, turned into a food, retail and service hub.
“Al the stores that are there now were not there at the time,” says Pennacchia. “Since then, especially after COVID it has grown a ton and now Southold is like a shopping mecca on the North Fork. It’s really cool, we have tons of foot traffic there that we’ve never had before.”
When the time was right that to expand, Pennacchia says Jamesport felt like the natural step and a great opportunity for a location further west on the fork.
“Jamesport’s got its own growing scene and personality,” says Pennacchia.
The Outpost sits snugly alongside the Treatery and Duffy’s Deli and across from Main Road Biscuit, among other Jamesport favorites.
Pennacchia adds that this may be a more convenient location for some customers.

“There’s a lot of new people here [on the North Fork] and west, and I think you hear a lot that they just don’t go that far [to Southold],” says Pennacchia. “If you need a quick greeting card or hostess gift, something for the beach – which we plan on selling – I think it’s a really convenient location.”
The Jamesport store will sell accessories like visors, hats and tote bags; beach items including chairs; a children’s section with bibs and clothing; and ingredients like olive oil, salts and spices.

“For now, it’s a little smattering of everything, and I’ll just see what kind of takes off,” says Pennacchia.
After being in the business for nearly two decades, Pennacchia says her favorite part, besides her customers and staff, is “being around good design all the time.”
“I’m a creative, I’m a Pisces,” says Pennacchia. “I need to be around creativity.”
The Outpost will soft open on May 17, but Pennacchia plans to do a grand opening later this month. While the hours are to be determined, she plans to have a 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule most days and adjust as she sees fit.
