On Veterans Day Weekend we take the time to honor our nation’s service members and thank them for their sacrifices. Several events this weekend reflect the themes of gratitude, service and camaraderie. Choose an event or two to enjoy with friends or family from our list of notables below.

Gratitude Dinner & Fundraiser | Unitarian Universalists of Southold Meeting House, 51900 Main Road, Southold
Join in at this catered, buffet-style dinner to celebrate the new Universalist Meeting House, fully rebuilt after a fire in 2015 destroyed the historic First Universalist Church of Southold. Dinner, on Friday night at 6 p.m., includes beverages and dessert. Raffles from local vendors will be featured as well. Tickets are $75 each or two for $125; get your tickets here.
Southold Rotary Club’s Annual Scallop Dinner | Touch of Venice, 28350 Main Road, Cutchogue
On Veterans Day, this annual fundraising event benefits the Rotary Club’s service projects. From 4-8 p.m. eat in or take out at Touch of Venice Restaurant. Slurp and Sip | Anker, 47 Front St., Greenport
On Sunday from 4-6 p.m., Greenport restaurant Anker serves up local oysters paired with gin martinis and infused vodka shots. Aquaculturists represented include Eel Town Oysters, Oysterponds Shellfish Company, Yennicott Oysters, and Widow’s Hole Oyster Company. Five percent of proceeds benefit Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Back to the Bays Program; tickets are $45 and can be obtained here.

On Friday, two Love Lane neighbors, North Fork Fiber Arts and Roanoke Vineyards, are partnering up to present an evening of wine and works-in-progress.
