On The Docks Long Island Restaurant Week Prix-fixe | 177 Meeting House Creek Road, Aquebogue
Long Island Restaurant Week starts this Sunday and runs for a week, with participating East End eateries offering a two-course lunch menu for $24 and/or a three-course dinner menu for $29, $39, or $46 depending on the deal. Check out local favorite On The Docks in Aquebogue, which will offer a $39 per Greek-influenced menu, featuring dishes like Oysters Onassis (made with spinach, béchamel sauce and kefalotyri cheese), and lemon shrimp orzo and slow braised lamb shank mains. Join Steve Wick, award-winning journalist and former longtime executive editor of The Suffolk Times, on Saturday from 2–3 p.m. as he discusses his latest non-fiction book, All That Remains, where he recounts the lives of the last of the migrant workers in Cutchogue’s farming community. Photographs are by former Newsday photographer Viorel Florescu, and the event, including a reception after the presentation, is funded by North Fork Side by Side, a local group that funds nonprofit work that enriches the community. 32nd Annual Fall Craft Fair | Aquebogue Elementary School, 499 Main Road, Aquebogue
This popular craft fair, put together by the Aquebogue Parent-Teacher Organization, has lots to keep the whole family interested: food trucks, auctions and raffles, vendors, kid-friendly activities and class baskets and school apparel for sale.
