Get outside this Saturday and Sunday and enjoy the many fall events celebrating the season. There’s lots of fun to be had all across the North Fork, from spooky festivities in Riverhead to a run for a good cause in Orient.

Long Island Oyster Week | Billy’s by the Bay, 2530 Manhanset Avenue, Greenport

The 2nd annual LI Oyster Week wraps up this weekend with oyster specials at various restaurants around the North Fork. At Billy’s by the Bay in Greenport, enjoy $2 oysters and various other oyster specials while listening to live music on Saturday from 3–6:30 p.m. and Sunday from 3–6 p.m. Learn more here.

Minnow Wine Series Dinner: Macari Vineyard | 650 1st St., New Suffolk

New Suffolk restaurant Minnow at the Galley Ho partners with Macari Vineyards for a wine dinner from 5:30–9 p.m. on Saturday. The menu features such dishes as local tuna and Long Island duck paired with Macari’s biodynamically produced wines. Tickets are $125 per person and can be reserved here.

Shelter Island Lions Club Annual Scallop Dinner | Gardiner’s Bay Country Club, 12 Dinah Rock Road, Shelter Island

The Shelter Island Lions Club knows a thing or two about scallops — this annual event is in its 68th year! Tickets, $60 per person, are on sale here. Sunday’s dinner runs from 5-9 p.m. at the Gardiner’s Bay Country Club. Proceeds fund Lions Club contributions to a myriad of Shelter Island charities.

Harvest Tasting | Suhru & Lieb Vineyards, 13050 Oregon Road, Cutchogue

This Sunday, from noon–4 p.m., enjoy a special tasting of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Grigio juices and their corresponding finished wines, paired with cheese, while gazing at one of the most bucolic views of any tasting room on the North Fork. Full wine and food menu available; reservations are recommended. Tickets are $30 and available here.

Cider Tasting | Riverhead Ciderhouse, 2711 Sound Ave., Calverton

Celebrate autumn by sampling seasonal hard ciders, including some unique flavors like cinnamon toast, PB&J, cherry, pumpkin pie and blueberry pie. There’s live music as well on Saturday from 4–7 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. and 2 p.m.–5 p.m. Find more info here.

Berries for Birds | Peconic Land Trust’s Agricultural Center at Charnews Farm, 3005 Youngs Ave., Southold

One of a series of excellent lectures on our local environment, the Berries for Birds presentation will instruct you on which native trees and shrubs to plant to serve as a food source for our local bird population. Lecture is on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.; a $5 donation is suggested. Register here.

Art at Dart’s Old Town Arts and Crafts Guild Holiday Showcase | Dart’s Tree Farm, 2355 Main Bayview Road, Southold

Get a jump on your holiday shopping at Dart’s historic barn, where artists will display their fine art, photography and handcrafted items. The Showcase runs on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and admission is free. Learn more here.

Riverhead Halloween Fest | East Main St., Riverhead

There’s a host of Halloween happenings on Saturday in Riverhead, starting with coffin races at 2 p.m., trick or treating from 3-5 p.m., and a Goblin Parade on Main street at 6 p.m., complete with floats, a Thriller performance, and costume contests. ELIH Annual 5K Family Walk/Run | Orient Beach State Park, 40000 Main Road, Orient

On Sunday, participate in this annual run to support Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital’s behavioral health services. Day-of sign-up is 8 a.m. The 5K is $33 adults/$13 kids 6–12, with a free fun run for younger ones. Click here to register.
