Listen, we’re not going to lie to you — the weather’s been downright dreary, and it’s not looking great for the weekend. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun on the North Fork! Check out these event picks.


East End Food Spring Market | Twin Fork Beer Co., 807 Raynor Avenue, Riverhead

The market is open every Saturday through April 27! On April 6, North Fork Moto coffee will be there, along with photographer Corinne Tousey, Rosie’s Country Bakeshop and free health screenings by Catholic Health. Admission is free.

Annual Chili Competition | St. Patrick’s Church, 52125 Main Road, Southold

On April 7 at 11:30 a.m., check out this contest between the Knights of Columbus and The Columbettes. $15 donation, call or text Carol at 631-831-2738 for tickets.


Chocolate Fondue tasting | Sannino Vineyard, 15975 County Road 48, Cutchogue

The Village Cheese Shop will host a chocolate fondue tasting on April 5 at 6 p.m. $40, includes fondue and a glass of wine. Buy tickets here.

Barrel tasting | Pindar Vineyards, 37645 Route 25, Peconic

On April 6, tour the production facility and try wine directly from Pindar’s barrel, then get a private tasting. $50, buy tickets here.


Boating Safety Course | Cutchogue New Suffolk Library, 27550 Main Road, Cutchogue

This eight-hour Coast Guard Auxiliary course, on April 6 at 8 a.m., meets the new state requirement of Brianna’s Law, which requires operators of mechanically propelled vessels to complete a boat safety class. $50, register here

Seal Talk and Weekly Beach Clean-Up | Hallock State Park Preserve, 6062 Sound Ave., Jamesport

The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society will give a presentation on New York’s seal population, followed by a clean-up along the Sound on April 6 at 10 a.m.. Free, bring gloves.

An Evening of Laughs | Desmond’s at East Wind, 5720 NY25A, Wading River

Host John Butera emcees this evening of comedy, featuring Rich Walker, Tugboat Manny, Fat Jay (his words, not ours) and Maria Walsh, on April 4 at 6 p.m. $60 includes dinner and show, $35 for the show only. Buy tickets here.

PoquaTALKS: Professor Roger Panetta and the Men Behind Bars at Sing Sing | Poquatuck Hall, 1160 Skippers Ln., Orient

On April 6 at 5 p.m., head to Poquatuck Hall in Orient for a talk with Professor Roger Panetta about the Sing Sing prisoner registry, which documented over 50,000 prisoners from 1865–1925. Free, donations requested at the door.
