Boating Safety Course | Cutchogue New Suffolk Library, 27550 Main Road, Cutchogue
This eight-hour Coast Guard Auxiliary course, on April 6 at 8 a.m., meets the new state requirement of Brianna’s Law, which requires operators of mechanically propelled vessels to complete a boat safety class. $50, register here.
Seal Talk and Weekly Beach Clean-Up | Hallock State Park Preserve, 6062 Sound Ave., Jamesport
The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society will give a presentation on New York’s seal population, followed by a clean-up along the Sound on April 6 at 10 a.m.. Free, bring gloves.

On April 6 at 5 p.m., head to Poquatuck Hall in Orient for a talk with Professor Roger Panetta about the Sing Sing prisoner registry, which documented over 50,000 prisoners from 1865–1925. Free, donations requested at the door.
