Built in 1883 and facing visitors as they first drive into town from the North Ferry, you might say the Shelter Island Pharmacy is the island’s all-purpose welcome wagon. Indeed, not only is it the place to pick up medicine and salves for all that ail you, it’s where you can find unique gifts (no soap on a rope here!), candy, cards, island-centric tees, hats and sweats and one of the few remaining active pharmacy lunch counters on Long Island.

Spend a minute with us as we savor a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and crispy hash browns at this favorited island staple.
