From celebrating local artists to an interactive arts and crafts fair, here’s your guide to the art shows and exhibits happening on the North Fork this August:

Antiques, Fine Art & Crafts Fair on the Bay | Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild, Cutchouge

In celebration of 75 years, join The Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild for a day of browsing antiques, searching for collectibles, and viewing plenty of fine art. This fair will showcase plenty of art in a variety of mediums, from jewelry to woodwork, paintings, photographs, and pottery. On Saturday, August 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. head to Mattituck Park District Picnic Grounds for a day of arts, crafts, live music, and much more. Admission is $2 per person. 

Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild is located at 28265 Main Rd, Cutchogue.

Reflexions | Milton L Burns Park, Riverhead

Be awe-inspired by this interactive and walkable display of art and light. As the sun sets, walk along the riverfront and watch the darkness come alive as numerous sculptures light up with assorted elements of “LIGHT.” Based on the artist’s interpretations and designs, elements of light include LED, incandescent, fire, blacklight, day glow, and photoluminescent displays as well as live performances. Sunset viewings begin at 7:46 p.m. on Saturday, August 19 and this month’s Reflexions display will also include a performance by Who Are Those Guys. 

Reflexions Riverhead will be on Peconic Ave. in Downtown Riverhead.

North Fork Art & Artists | Oysterponds Historical Society, Orient

During this annual celebration commemorates the work of over 25 different local artists who supported OHS. Explore the thought-provoking art of residents who express their creativity in a variety of mediums. This sale will occur on Saturday, August 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. 100 percent of sales go directly to these local artists. 

God Bless Us Romantics | VSOP Projects, Greenport 

In this solo exhibition, view the colorful and highly coveted paintings by artist Eric Stefanski. Featuring 20 pieces, this show illustrates the depth of the artist’s technical fluidity and poetic adventurousness. Pop into Very Special, a VSOP Projects Project on Main St. Thursday through Sunday starting at 11 a.m. to pursue this exhibition, which will be on display until September 17. Many of these paintings are also available for purchase.

VSOP Projects is located at 200 Main St, Greenport.

Arborescent II, National Juried Exhibition | Alex Ferrone Gallery, Cutchouge

In this exhibition of the natural beauty of trees, juror Christina Mossaides Strassfield selected 30 artworks by 24 national artists. These works display traditional and alternative styles of photography, painting, printmaking, mixed media works, and sculpture. Explore the artist’s interpretations of branches, trunks, roots, and leaves in all stages of growth and decay. These works will be on display beginning Saturday, August 19 through September 24 with an opening reception on Saturday, August 26 from 5 to 7 p.m.
