A completely Instagrammable studio is making its way to Downtown Riverhead.

Long Island Selfie Studio will be the area’s first social-media-centric photography and portrait destination. Founders Dioniser and Alex Rodriguez are excited to bring their ideas to Riverhead in this one-of-a-kind attraction.

“There is no place like Long Island Selfie Studio out here on the East End,” said Dioniser, a digital creator with her own travel and lifestyle blog. “We always have to travel far to go. I took my husband to a selfie studio in Miami and he fell in love with it and thought it was something we could bring closer to home.”

The Long Island Selfie Studio has 26 different rotating sets for guests to take photos in. Dioniser, who took inspiration from the sets she saw in similar establishments in Miami and New York City, designed each room herself. Her ideas cover many concepts, from the paint colors to the props available. The Studio features a completely pink room, a bedroom straight from the 1990s and a Miami-inspired pool filled with plastic balls.

“We will always be changing the themes of rooms,” said Dioniser. “If there’s a room that everyone loves, it will be a mainstay of course, but I’ll be changing rooms for the holidays. For Christmas, there will be Santa’s workshop or the North Pole; for Halloween, there will be plenty of family-friendly spooky sets.”

Each room will be equipped with a ring light that can hold any kind of smartphone. The Rodriguezes will be available full-time to aid guests in how to capture the best photos.

“We will always be here and we will have a few employees walking around to help people get the best shot,” said Alex. “Guests can spend their day here taking as many photos as they want with their own phones.”

The couple are excited to make their dreams come true. Every day for the past six months, the Rodriguezes have built sets, painted walls and purchased costumes and props for the Studio. An avid content creator and photographer herself, Dioniser will also offer photo shoots for people interested in receiving professional portraits of themselves or their families.

The Long Island Selfie Studio opens on June 3 and is located at 221 E. Main St. in Riverhead. You can follow their journey as they put their final touches on the space through their social media @longislandselfiestudio. A one-hour studio session starts at $35 per person. They are open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 3 to 8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. While walk-ins are welcome, booking a selfie session on their website is recommended.
