Times Review Media Group’s inaugural Northforker Wine & Food Classic will be held at Borghese Vineyard & Winery in Cutchogue Thursday, Sept. 1.
The evening will showcase local wineries, breweries and restaurants and give guests a taste of what the North Fork and East End have to offer at the site of Long Island’s first vineyard.
“We are very proud to announce this event,” said Steven McKenna, VP of Sales and Events for Times Review Media Group. “This is a local food and wine event showcasing farm-to-table restaurants.”
Some of the restaurants participating in the northforker Wine & Food Classic include Grace & Grit, Main Road Biscuit, The Catered Fork, Ellen’s On Front, Center Cuts, Insatiable Eats and Isola. Wineries include Borghese, Sparkling Pointe, Clovis Point Vineyard & Winery, Macari Vineyards, Pellegrini Vineyards, Palmer Vineyards, Paumanok and Peconic Bay Vineyards. Breweries participating include Greenport Harbor Brewing Co., North Fork Brewing Co., and Twin Fork Beer Co. and Westhampton Beach Brewing Company. More participants will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
“The open space of the North Fork is so attractive,” McKenna said. “The beauty of Borghese Vineyards …you’ll be surrounded by the vines.”
Partial proceeds from the event will benefit Eastern Long Island Hospital Foundation, as well as funding the forthcoming Ann Marie & Marco Borghese scholarship fund, which will go to area high school students.
“I love the story of [Borghese Vineyards owner] Gio Borghese,” McKenna said. “There was an immense pressure on him from a young age, and he succeeded. He’s loyal and passionate.”
