Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center has an eclectic lineup of acts to choose from this summer — from reggae to rock and spoken word.
The wide range of options on the PAC’s calendar is not unlike the variety of restaurants you have to choose from in Westhampton.
So we decided this summer to pair three of the theater’s shows we’re most looking forward to with the area eateries they go best with.
While you’re out to see one of these three shows, you’re sure to also have a good time at these restaurants.
Stephen Marley
Sunday, July 10 at 8 p.m.
Stephen Marley, the son of reggae legend, Bob Marley, was raised in Kingston, Jamaica and has won a staggering eight Grammy awards for both his solo and group work. Marley’s most recent EP, Celebrating Nina: A Reggae Tribute to Nina Simone, was released in March.
Pair with: Rumba, 43 Canoe Place Road, Hampton Bays
Why not start your reggae-infused night with some Island-inspired cuisine? This Hampton Bays hotspot has an extensive rum bar and items like pan-seared cod with creamy coconut risotto, cauliflower steak with chipotle glaze, duck empanadas and more.
Is There Still Sex in the City?
Saturday, July 9 at 8 p.m.
Author Candace Bushnell of Sex and the City tells all during this unique evening about life in Manhattan, her experiences at Studio 54 to writing Sex and the City and more in this funny and poignant one-woman show.
Pair with: The Patio at 54 Main, 54 Main Street, Westhampton Beach
You can’t do anything Sex and the City-related without having a cosmo first. The Patio at 54 Main has a fabulous craft cocktail list that includes items like the Main Street Cosmopolitan — house-infused orange vodka, triple sec, simple syrup, fresh lime juice and a splash of cranberry juice — as well as other “sexy” drinks like martinis, margaritas, Palomas and more.
Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot
Saturday, August 27 at 8 p.m.
Mike DelGuidice performs with the Piano Man every month at Madison Square Garden and will be rocking out with the beloved tribute band for an evening of fun. We can’t guarantee that Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot are going to perform Billy Joel’s seminal hit “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant,” but we can help you have a nice Italian meal before the show.
Pair with: Baby Moon, 238 Montauk Highway, Westhampton Beach
With an expansive menu of pizza, pasta, soup and salad, Baby Moon will get you in the mood for DelGuidice and Big Shot. We’re particularly intrigued by the Cornish game hen and the Porterhouse pizzaiola.
