8 A.M. Start your day at Sweet Mama’s, an adorable comfort food spot right outside the village. Options include sweet offerings like blueberry french toast and savory hot honey chicken and waffles with cheese grits.

10 A.M. Take a stroll down Main Street, which is filled with charming shops. Highlights include gift shops like Artisan House, home decor spot Nest on Main, olive oil purveyors The Olive Tree and more.

12 P.M. The historic Vanderbilt Museum is a five-minute drive away from Northport village, and spring is the perfect time of year to visit the majestic mansion and beautiful grounds. You can either explore on your own or take a guided tour of the mansion and the surrounding property, which houses a planetarium, natural history wing and more.

2 P.M. Have lunch at the Northport Sweet Shop, an old-fashioned luncheonette. Their ice cream is homemade, so you have not had a milkshake exactly like this before.

5 P.M. Relax and take in the beautiful seaside scenery at Cow Harbor Park at the end of the village.

6 P.M. Enjoy dinner at Robke’s, an old-fashioned family-style Italian restaurant.

8 P.M. See a show at the John W. Engeman Theater. The musical adaptation of “A Bronx Tale,” with a doo-wop-tinged score, runs through May 8, followed by a production of “Kinky Boots” starting on May 19.
