The North Fork is filled with Halloween fun for families, from pumpkin decorating on a historic homestead to spooky animals at the aquarium.

Check out these kid and family-friendly activities.

Bats, Barnacles and Broomsticks at the Long Island Aquarium

October 23, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

431 East Main Street, Riverhead

Kids will meet the animals, do safe trick-or-treating and more. Kids in costume under 12 years old get 50 percent off admission.


Hallockville Halloween Trunk-or-Treat Fundraiser

October 30, 4 p.m.

6038 Sound Avenue, Riverhead

Kids will enjoy pumpkin decorating, lawn games, a mummy-wrapping competition, a magic show with Mike the Silly Magician, spooky storytelling and a costume parade and contest around Naugles Barn. The event will culminate in trick-or-treating around the pasture. Kids under 5 get in free.


2nd Annual Greenport Halloween Village

October 30, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Main Street, Greenport

Families who want to participate in the parade should head to the Floyd Memorial Library at 11 a.m. Go trick-or-treating at the Skate Park from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and explore the decorated village all day long.


Halloween on the Farm at Cornell Cooperative Extension

October 30, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.; October 31, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Enjoy trick-or-treating and meet the animals. 


Safari Adventure Halloween Party

October 30, 6 p.m.

1074 Pulaski Street, Riverhead

Meet characters like Vamparina, Bridget the Bergen, Baby Yoda, Hector from “Coco,” Spider-Man and more. Tickets include a $5 game card. 


Safe Trick-or-Treat at The Shoppes

October 31, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

5768 NY-25A, Wading River

Enjoy trick-or-treating around The Shoppes at East Wind, rain or shine. The Fall Festival and Craft Fair will also be going on.
