Each week, we will be spotlighting a different farm stand on the North Fork as more open up. KK’s the Farm is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, but they hope to soon be open on Thursday and Monday, as well.

Name: KK’s the Farm

History: The farm was opened in 1999 by Ira and KK Haspel, who were in the architecture and building industry at the time. When they started having grandchildren, KK wanted to feed them the best food, so after some studying and research, they started biodynamic farming. Soon, more people than just their family wanted in on the produce, and now the farm supplies 10 restaurants and has a CSA and a stand.

What they are offering: Spinach, swiss chard, kale, lettuce mixes and arugula.

What they will offer: Peas, garlic, heirloom tomatoes, leeks, beets, onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, gooseberries, red and black currants and Japanese eggplant.
