After reading that story, I’ve started infusing the water in my glass Contigo bottle with mint and lemon verbena grown in my backyard for a more refreshing way to stay hydrated. It’s become a ritual that feels indulgent and refined, yet literally costs me nothing.
Savoring pleasures that are sophisticated, yet simple and earthy, is really what summer on the North Fork is all about.

But the North Fork is also a place where you can just as easily invite everyone over for a backyard cookout and make artisanal flatbreads in your one-of-a-kind pizza oven.
You can fill your home with high-end décor or you can stock up on yard sale finds and salvaged furniture from one of our many antique shops.
You can buy a 40-foot CNC from Brewer Yacht Yard in Greenport and sail around Robins Island or you can sit back and watch the race from the New Suffolk waterfront.
There really is no wrong way to do it.
