With temperatures climbing into the high 80s these past few days, a trip to the Splish Splash water park in Riverhead seems like the perfect way to cool down.

Though locals have become used to having the park in their vicinity, Splish Splash actually has some of the most exhilarating water rides in the entire world. Don’t believe it? The Travel Channel is featuring them on the new season of their show, “Xtreme Waterparks.”

It’s the TV show’s second season of traveling all over the world to highlight the best and craziest water park rides. This episode features the country’s first quadruple racing loops slide in Louisiana, the Slip n’ Soar in Georgia, and the Cliff Diver ride at Splish Splash right here on Long Island.

For those who don’t know, the Cliff Diver is Splish Splash’s extreme body slide that drops visitors eight stories in three seconds flat.

The episode is entitled “Getting Wet in the Backyard” and premieres tonight (Sunday, June 30) at 8 p.m. ET/PT (Eastern Time/Pacific Time) on the Travel Channel.

Splish Splash also opened New York’s first water coaster this year, Bootlegger’s Run. Check out the first-person perspective video here.
