About 700 oenophiles gathered at Martha Clara Vineyards in Riverhead Saturday to sip wine, slurp oysters and celebrate the late men and women who have contributed to the Long Island Wine Industry.

The event, Harvest East End, is the Long Island Wine Council‘s biggest annual party and this year’s gala, dubbed “Back to Our Roots,” was a departure from past years in several ways. (more…)

Hold out your glass for another pour of rosé as the Long Island Wine Council’s annual Harvest East End event returns this summer.

This year’s gala, dubbed “Back to Our Roots,” is set for Saturday, Aug. 5.

Harvest East End, which usually features tastes from upwards of 30 Long Island wine producers, is the Wine Council’s biggest event of the year and traditionally honors longtime contributors to the Long Island wine industry.

While that will continue in 2017, guests can expect something slightly different this year. (more…)

Celebrate the bounty of the North and South Forks at the 7th Annual Dan’s Harvest East Endat McCall Vineyards and Ranch in Cutchogue on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Organized by Dan’s Papers and the Long Island Wine Council, this popular late summer wine and foodie event showcases the region’s wines, chefs and food purveyors. (more…)

It started out as an unusual concept, but the idea has certainly caught on. A shellfish shack where you can pop open your own oysters after getting a lesson in the art of shucking.

And now Little Creek Oyster Farm & Market in Greenport, which has been written up in every publication from Newsday to Bon Appetite, just got a shout out in the New York Times Front Burner column. (more…)

When asked at the food and wine bash Dan’s Harvest East End on Saturday which New York wine was his favorite, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he could not choose.

“We love our wine in New York,” Cuomo said. “I love them all equally.” (more…)

The Harvest East End wine and food classic at McCall Wines in Cutchogue on Aug. 24 was another beautiful celebration of Long Island wine and food. It was attended by some 1,300 people who came to raise their glasses to the wineries and restaurants of the East End. Forty-three wineries and 34 chefs provided the food and wine. (more…)
