If you’re into art and beer, a visit to Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. is in order.

The brewery’s latest exhibit, Tide+AL, will debut with an opening party at its Greenport location Saturday, March 18, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The event will also mark the release of the brewery’s latest beer, Tidal Lager, an Eastern European-style lager.

The art exhibit features nautical-themed work by East End artists Scott Bluedorn and Cindy Pease Roe.

“We’re always excited when a new beer debuts, so I was inspired to celebrate the release of our Tidal Lager with artist Scott Bluedorn, the illustrator of this newest label,” said Ann Vandenburgh, Greenport Harbor’s gallerist. “When I curated this exhibit I also wanted to include Greenport artist Cindy Pease Roe, a well-known maritime artist who, like Scott, embraces the mystique of the sea.”

Bluedorn is an East Hampton resident who concentrates on collage, sculpture, furniture and painting. His work, which includes surreal takes on the local environment, was most recently used in labels for Greenport Harbor’s bottled beers.

The work of Greenport’s Cindy Pease Roe, meanwhile, pays homage to the harbors and beaches she calls home. Many of her sculptures, some of which are in the form of wreaths or aquatic creatures, are constructed from the flotsam that washes up on the shore. Her paintings fluctuate between intimate depictions of seaside villages and minimalistic images of the ocean, while her sculptures are more playful.
